Ingredients
- 50 g Pasta, dry, enriched
- 62.5 g Beef, ground
- 100 g Tomatoes, canned, cooked
- 18.8 g Onions, raw
- 2.5 g Garlic, raw
- 3.8 g Olive oil
- 62.5 g Cheese, Ricotta
- 62.5 g Cheese, Mozzarella, NFS
- 25 g Cheese, parmesan, hard
- 6.3 g Egg, whole, raw
- 1.9 g Basil, fresh
- 1.9 g Parsley, fresh
- 1 g Salt, table
- 0.6 g Spices, pepper, black
- 0.3 g Spices, oregano, dried
- 0.3 g Spices, basil, dried
- 0.5 g Sugar, NFS
Method
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Prepare the Meat Sauce: - Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. - Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes). - Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. - Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned (about 8-10 minutes). - Stir in the canned tomatoes, salt, pepper, dried oregano, dried basil, and sugar. - Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh basil, and parsley.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
- - Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce at the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. - Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles. Add a layer of mozzarella cheese slices. - Repeat these layers until you run out of ingredients, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top. - Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.
- - Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. - Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna sit for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This helps it set and makes it easier to cut into neat portions.
