- Preparation: 10 min
- Cooking: 40 min
- Makes: 1 serving (529 g)
- Difficulty: Easy
- Diets: Pescatarian, Gluten-free, Dairy-free, High protein
- Contains: celery, fish
Ingredients
- 130 g Snapper, raw
- 50 g Plantains, green, raw
- 50 g Yam, raw
- 10 g Scallions, raw
- 2 g Chili peppers, red, raw
- 1 g Thyme, fresh
- 5 g Garlic, raw
- 220 g Fish stock
- 60 g Water
- 0.6 g Salt
Method
- Bring the fish stock and water to a simmer with the garlic, scallion, whole chili and thyme.
- Peel and cut the green plantain and yam into chunks and add them to the pot; simmer for 15 minutes until tender.
- Add the snapper pieces and simmer gently for 10-12 minutes until the fish is fully cooked and flakes easily.
- Season with the salt, and remove the whole chili once the soup is as spicy as you like.
- Ladle into a mug or bowl; fish tea is drunk light and clear, a thin, warming broth rather than a thick chowder.
