  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Diets: Vegetarian
  • Contains: alcohol, dairy, egg, gluten, nut

Ingredients

  • 30 g Pie crust, unbaked
  • 30 g Pecans
  • 40 g Corn syrup
  • 20 g Sugar
  • 20 g Eggs, whole, raw
  • 8 g Butter, unsalted
  • 0.5 g Vanilla extract
  • 0.2 g Salt

Method

  1. Line a pie dish with the crust and crimp the edges.
  2. Whisk the corn syrup, sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla and salt together until smooth.
  3. Stir in the pecans, or arrange them in a pattern on top for a neater finish.
  4. Pour the filling into the crust.
  5. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 45-50 minutes until the edges are set and the center only jiggles slightly.
  6. Cool completely, at least 2 hours, before slicing so the filling sets fully. Makes 1 slice; multiply the ingredients by 8 for a whole pie.
