One serving has 459 kcal and 13 g protein, and at least a fifth of a woman's daily need of selenium (61%), phosphorus (58%), riboflavin (55%), thiamin (48%), folate (33%) and cobalamin (29%). Ready in 17 minutes.

- Preparation: 10 min
- Cooking: 7 min
- Makes: 1 serving (217 g)
- Difficulty: Medium
- Diets: Vegetarian
- Contains: dairy, egg, gluten
Ingredients
- 60 g Flour, all-purpose
- 90 g Milk, whole
- 30 g Eggs, whole, raw
- 8 g Butter, unsalted
- 6 g Sugar
- 2 g Baking powder
- 0.5 g Salt
- 15 g Jam
- 5 g Sugar, powdered
Method
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together, then whisk in the milk and egg to make a smooth, thick batter.
- Melt a little of the butter in each hollow of an æbleskiver pan (or a mini-muffin pan) over medium heat.
- Fill each hollow about two-thirds full with batter and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form and the edges set.
- Using a skewer or fork, turn each ball a quarter turn as it cooks, letting more batter flow down, and keep turning every 30-40 seconds until golden and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes total.
- Dust with the powdered sugar and serve warm with a spoonful of jam.
