Faworki (Polish Angel Wings)
One serving has 321 kcal and 6 g protein, and at least a fifth of a woman's daily need of selenium (38%), thiamin (31%), riboflavin (25%), choline (24%) and folate (23%). Ready in 21 minutes.

- Preparation: 15 min
- Cooking: 6 min
- Makes: 1 serving (83.2 g)
- Difficulty: Medium
- Diets: Vegetarian
- Contains: alcohol, dairy, egg, gluten
Ingredients
- 40 g Flour, all-purpose
- 12 g Egg yolks, raw
- 10 g Sour cream
- 5 g Sugar
- 3 g Spirits
- 0.2 g Salt
- 8 g Vegetable oil
- 5 g Sugar, powdered
Method
- Beat the egg yolks with the sour cream, sugar, spirits and salt, then work in the flour to make a smooth, elastic dough; knead for 5 minutes until it feels silky.
- Rest the dough for 15 minutes, then roll it out very thin.
- Cut into strips about 3 cm wide and 12 cm long, slit a short line lengthwise in the middle of each, and pull one end through the slit to form the twisted 'angel wing' shape.
- Heat plenty of oil in a deep pan to 180 °C (350 °F) and fry the strips in batches for 1-2 minutes, turning once, until pale golden and crisp; only a little oil is actually absorbed.
- Drain on paper towels, cool slightly, and dust generously with the powdered sugar before serving.
