  • Makes: 1 serving (614 g)
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Diets: High protein
  • Contains: beef, celery, dairy, fish, gluten

Ingredients

  • 180 g Beef, ground, 85% lean, raw
  • 50 g Onions, raw
  • 40 g Carrots, raw
  • 100 g Beef broth
  • 8 g Flour, all-purpose
  • 200 g Potatoes, raw
  • 10 g Butter, unsalted
  • 20 g Milk, whole
  • 5 g Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 g Salt
  • 0.2 g Black pepper

Method

  1. Brown the ground beef in a dry pan over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks, until no pink remains (internal temperature at least 74 °C/165 °F).
  2. Add the onion and carrot and cook 5 minutes until softening.
  3. Stir the flour through, then add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; bring to a simmer and cook gently for 25-30 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables are tender. Season with the salt and pepper.
  4. Meanwhile, boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
  5. Drain the potatoes and mash them with the butter and milk until smooth.
  6. Serve the mince hot alongside a generous mound of the mashed potato.
