  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Diets: Vegetarian, Gluten-free, Low carb
  • Contains: dairy

Ingredients

  • 120 g Queso blanco
  • 8 g Olive oil
  • 5 g Lemon juice
  • 0.5 g Oregano, dried
  • 2 g Mint, fresh
  • 0.3 g Black pepper

Method

  1. Slice the cheese (queso blanco stands in here for halloumi, which is not in the catalog) into slabs about 1 cm thick.
  2. Heat a dry griddle pan over medium-high heat until very hot.
  3. Grill the cheese slices 2-3 minutes per side until deep golden grill marks form and the cheese is warmed through and slightly softened, but still holding its shape.
  4. Arrange on a plate, drizzle with the olive oil and lemon juice, and scatter with the oregano, torn mint and black pepper.
  5. Serve immediately, while the cheese is still warm and a little squeaky.
