Kemal Pasha Dessert
One serving has 528 kcal and 13 g protein, and at least a fifth of a woman's daily need of selenium (59%), phosphorus (39%), riboflavin (34%), vitamin K (31%) and thiamin (25%). Ready in 50 minutes.

- Preparation: 20 min
- Cooking: 30 min
- Makes: 1 serving (239 g)
- Difficulty: Hard
- Diets: Vegetarian
- Contains: dairy, egg, gluten
Ingredients
- 60 g Cottage cheese
- 20 g Semolina
- 10 g Flour, all-purpose
- 15 g Eggs, whole, raw
- 1 g Baking powder
- 15 g Vegetable oil
- 40 g Sugar
- 60 g Water
- 3 g Lemon juice
- 15 g Cream, heavy
Method
- Mix the cottage cheese with the semolina, flour, egg and baking powder into a soft, sticky dough (multiply everything by 6 for a full batch of about 24 balls).
- Shape into small balls, about the size of a walnut.
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the balls in batches over medium heat for 6-8 minutes, turning often, until golden all over and cooked through.
- Meanwhile, make a syrup by simmering the sugar, water and lemon juice for 8-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Drop the hot fried balls straight into the warm syrup and let them soak for at least 15 minutes so they absorb it.
- Serve at room temperature or chilled, topped with a spoonful of cream (kaymak, or the cream here).
