- Preparation: 30 min
- Cooking: 15 min
- Makes: 1 serving (206 g)
- Difficulty: Medium
- Diets: Dairy-free
- Contains: beef, gluten, meat
Ingredients
- 50 g Flour, all-purpose
- 25 g Water
- 20 g Vegetable oil
- 50 g Lamb, ground, raw
- 30 g Beef, ground, 80% lean, raw
- 30 g Onions, raw
- 1 g Salt
- 0.2 g Black pepper
Method
- Mix the flour, water and a tablespoon of the oil into a smooth, firm dough; knead for 8 minutes, cover and rest for 20-30 minutes.
- Mix the lamb and beef mince with the grated onion, salt and pepper.
- Divide the dough into balls and roll each out very thinly into a large round.
- Spread the meat filling over one half of each round, leaving a border, then fold the other half over and press and crimp the edges to seal well.
- Heat the remaining oil in a wide pan until shimmering and fry the turnovers for 3-4 minutes per side until deep golden and the meat is cooked through with no pink remaining.
- Drain on paper towel and serve hot; the filling will be very hot, so let them cool slightly before biting in.
