  • Contains: dairy

Ingredients

  • 60 g Water
  • 60 g Black tea, brewed
  • 150 g Milk, whole
  • 10 g Sugar
  • 0.2 g Cardamom

Method

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a small pan with the black tea and cardamom, to make a strong, concentrated brew.
  2. Add the milk and bring back to a gentle simmer; traditionally, tea leaves are boiled directly in milk to give doodh patti its rich, deep colour.
  3. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, letting the milk froth up and settle a couple of times, so it takes on a deep, milky-brown colour.
  4. Stir in the sugar, then simmer 1 minute more.
  5. Strain into a cup and serve hot.
