Digestive Biscuits
One serving has 192 kcal and 4 g protein, and at least a fifth of a woman's daily need of manganese (56%) and selenium (26%). Ready in 30 minutes.

- Preparation: 15 min
- Cooking: 15 min
- Makes: 1 serving (48.7 g)
- Difficulty: Easy
- Diets: Vegetarian
- Contains: dairy, gluten
Ingredients
- 20 g Flour, whole wheat
- 5 g Oats, rolled
- 8 g Sugar, brown
- 10 g Butter, unsalted
- 5 g Milk, whole
- 0.5 g Baking soda
- 0.2 g Salt
Method
- Rub the cold butter into the whole wheat flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt with your fingertips until it looks like coarse crumbs.
- Add the milk and bring the mixture together into a firm dough; add a splash more milk if it feels too dry.
- Roll the dough out to about 3-4 mm thick and cut into small rounds.
- Prick each round a few times with a fork to stop it puffing up unevenly.
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12-15 minutes, until lightly golden at the edges.
- Cool completely on a rack, as the biscuits crisp up as they cool; this makes about 1 serving of 3 biscuits.
