  • Preparation: 10 min
  • Cooking: 35 min
  • Makes: 1 serving (220 g)
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Diets: Vegetarian, Gluten-free
  • Contains: dairy, honey, nut

Ingredients

  • 180 g Apples, raw
  • 12 g Raisins
  • 10 g Hazelnuts
  • 12 g Honey
  • 0.3 g Cinnamon
  • 6 g Butter, unsalted

Method

  1. Core the apple from the top, leaving the base intact, to make a wide cavity, and score a shallow ring around the middle of the skin so it doesn't burst.
  2. Chop the hazelnuts roughly and mix with the raisins, half the honey and the cinnamon.
  3. Pack the nut and raisin mixture firmly into the cavity of the apple.
  4. Sit the apple in a small baking dish, top with the remaining honey and a small knob of butter, and pour a splash of water into the dish.
  5. Bake at 180 °C (350 °F) for 30-35 minutes until the apple is soft all the way through and the top is caramelized.
  6. Spoon over the buttery juices from the dish and serve warm, with a spoon of yogurt or cream if you like.
